At the end of January 2011 we captured the Travelling Mallet along with the pot of money which the brethren agreed to round up to £100.00.

Our RWM Bro. Phil decided that it should go to “Crossroads” based at the Biggart Hospital, a charity which the lodge has supported in the past.

Phil said “This organisation brings respite to carers in our community and is well worthy of our support”.

The photograph shows Phil handing over the cheque to Derek Barbour prior to our meeting on 10th March.

Station 15 Ayr hospital receives £1060.00

On Saturday 22nd of August Lodge Prestwick 1060 were the guests for the annual charity bowling match between themselves and Prestwick Bowling Club. The venue was the bowling club at Midton Road in Prestwick. The event was as ever very well supported by both experienced bowlers and total beginners who came together to raise money for charity.

The winning team on the day were the members of Lodge Prestwick 1060. The sum raised was enhanced by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire tournament held on the Sunday. The money from both events was further added to by Jean Shearer of Prestwick Bowling Club which brought the total raised to around £1000. The Lodge recognised this excellent sum of money should be rounded off to a more manageable number, ie £1060.

Paul Noble and Alison Pyper from Station 15 the Oncology Department of Ayr Hospital received a cheque for £1060.00 from RWM Robert, Bowling Club Lady President Anne McAtear, Jean Shearer and Gents President Jimmy Gibson.
